About

For those of you who don’t know me, my name’s Matt. I’m a fourth year medical student at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine. It’s a long name, I know, but you’d be surprised by the amount of confusion our first president’s name can cause. People I’ve met while traveling often think I’m coming from DC or Seattle, even when I include the “St. Louis” part.

I’ll be participating in Child Family Health International’s Urban and Rural Comparative Health Program, which for me will involve three weeks of clinical rotations in Quito, Ecuador (the capital and Ecuador’s second largest city) and three weeks in Chone (a more rural village close to the Pacific coast). Follow along with my journey through Ecuador by keeping up with my blog!
